Ferrous scrap price is flat at 16,400 yen per tonne for steel turning scrap, 19,400 yen for A grade pig iron turning scrap and 18,400 yen for B grade pig iron turning scrap at dealers’ purchase price including freight around Tokyo. The price is expected to keep the level under mixed move with higher export price and lower purchase price by local electric furnace steel makers. Hyundai Steel of South Korea offered around FOB 33,000 yen per tonne for Japanese H2 grade scrap at weekly tender on Wednesday, which was 200 yen higher than previous successful tender. The firm purchased the Japanese scrap for the first time in 2 weeks after failure tender previous week. Ferrous scrap price is firm at around 22,000 yen per tonne around Osaka.
