Nippon Steel to Hike Container Hot Coil by US$ 100/t for China

Nippon Steel will offer around US$ 100 per tonne of hike for hot rolled coil export price for April-June shipment from January-March at price negotiation with Chinese container makers starting next week. The firm tries to increase the price to estimated FOB US$ 650 per tonne including special steel extra charge. Nippon Steel ships small amount of hot coil to Chinese container makers in January-March. The firm tries to increase the selling price to lift the level after the drop in autumn when the users seek higher volume. The firm skipped the shipment in October-December due to price fluctuation nature of the trade with Chinese container makers, which purchase hot coil from Chinese steel makers as well. The demand level is also up and down seasonally.
