Japan Public Offices Discusses Strategy for Rare Metals

A governmental symposium on Japanese national element strategy was held in Tokyo on Friday, supported by the Cabinet Office, METI (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) and MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology). The symposium was hosted by a congress newly established by METI and MEXT to discuss on Japanese national element strategy especially for alternative materials of rare metals.At the symposium about 300 people were present from Japanese steel makers, nonferrous metal makers, universities, research institutions and public offices to report and discuss precisely on rare metal related subjects and actions by METI and MEXT through 4 lectures and panel discussions.
