Japan Export Electrolytic Copper Up, Copper Scrap Down in January

Japanese export of electrolytic copper (cathode copper) increased by 87.4% to 30,542 tonnes in January from a year ago, which for China doubled to 14,129 tonnes, announced by Ministry of Finance on Wednesday. China is the largest importer of electrolytic copper from Japan. The copper scrap export decreased by 22% to 23,088 tonnes in January from a year ago, which downed by 15.3% to 21,191 tonnes for China and by 78.8% to 491 tonnes for South Korea.The aluminium alloy ingot export kept almost flat at 1,317 tonnes in January from a year ago. The primary aluminium ingot export increased by 23.1% and aluminium scrap increased by 34.1%.
