JFE Steel groups’ construction materials maker, JFE Metal Products & Engineering increases the selling price of steel products for road and civil works by 10,000 yen per tonne for April shipment to cover higher cost price including zinc. The firm already started the negotiation with users. The firm increases the products with zinc coating including guardrail, guard pipe and cable, road fence and civil works products. Zinc ingot price surges and lifts the galvanizing steel. The firm is suffered also from higher flat steel price and higher freight under shrinking demand for the products.JFE Metal Products & Engineering increased the selling price by 10,000 yen per tonne for August 2006. However, the firm decided the additional hike when the firm cannot cover the all of higher cost by own effort.
