Brass Bar Market Price Keeps Flat in Nagoya

Brass bar market price keeps flat in Nagoya at around 750 yen per kilogram for free-cutting bar with 25 millimeters diameter, at around 760 yen per kg for 10 mm diameter and at around 810 yen per kg for 5 mm diameter.Japanese domestic official price of copper ingot increased by 20,000 yen to 780,000 yen per tonne on Tuesday. Following the upsurge, domestic major copper product makers raised their purchasing prices for brass turning scrap by 12 yen to 590 yen per kg on Tuesday, which is the indicator for brass bar and scrap market price.Though the indicator prices increased, actual market price of brass turning scrap stays at 587 yen per kg in Nagoya as flat as the beginning of this month. Dealers intend to keep the brass bar price flat within March because many dealers in Nagoya are used to set monthly dealing prices at the beginning of every month.Brass bar demand is not active in the region except for automobiles. However, dealers’ shipment usually enters seasonal slowdown toward the end of March, the end of Japanese major fiscal year. Then dealers are not concerned about the slower shipment.Brass bar market price is likely to keep the level for a while.
