Japanese 5 integrated steel increased the raw steel output by 2.7% to 6.7 million tonnes in February from a year earlier when they kept the high level operation to meet higher demand mainly for manufacturers. The production share of integrated steels’ decreased by 0.7 percentage points to 72.8% with higher output increase by electric furnaces. Nippon Steel reduced the output by 5.1% to 2.382 million tonnes in February from a year earlier due to blast furnace relining at Nagoya works. JFE Steel increased the output by 10.1% to 2.35 million tonnes. Nippon Steel reduced the production share by 2.4 points to 25.9% while JFE Steel increased the share by 1.5 points to 25.6%.
