JFE Steel Develops Non-Chrome Coated Sheet for Consumer-Electronics

JFE Steel, Japanese major steel maker, announced on Monday the firm developed non-chromate hot dipped zinc coated steel sheet, Eco Frontier JM, which has high-corrosion resistance. The steel sheet is a little hard to change color by heating. The firm built up mass production system in East Japan Iron Works, and started commercial production. The steel sheet is only products by JFE Steel. The firm increased the item of non-chromate steel sheet, and corresponded users’ request. The firm plans to expand its sales to such as consumer-electronics makers in a positive way.The new steel sheet has inorganic coat. The firm developed the its own coating. The coat expresses high-corrosion resistance in processing site instead of thin coat thickness. The coat keeps the color under high temperature heating and maintains apparent condition of an early date thanks to non-chromate inorganic coat. The steel sheet is appropriate for alloy brazing of air conditioner or freezing showcase thanks to the coat has high spot welding ability. The firm is producing it at few hundreds tonnes in a month, which intends to increase to few thousands tonnes in the future.
