Japan Carbon Steel Export Rises by 29% in November

Japanese carbon steel export increased by 29.2% to 2.061 million tonnes in November from a year earlier, representing increases for 7 months in a row, announced by Japan Iron and Steel Federation on Friday. The export increases for flat products including 57% higher export of hot rolled wide strip. The export increased by 4.5% to 22.159 million tonnes in January-November from same period of 2005. The full year export will exceed around 23.04 million tonnes in 2005. The total steel export increased by 29.7% to 685,000 tonnes for South Korea in November from a year earlier, which increased for 7 months in a row. The export increased by 52.9% to 561,000 tonnes to China, which increased for 6 months in a row. The export increased by 28.6% to 120,000 tonnes to USA, which increased for 12 months in a row. The export increased by 30.3% to 329,000 tonnes to Thailand, which was the first increase in 13 months. The export increased by 0.3% to 279,000 tonnes to Taiwan, which was first increase in 3 months.
