Auto Related Aluminium Shipment Keeps Active in Japan

Japanese domestic aluminium shipment for automobile and motorcycle related usages increased by 2.4% to 133,688 tonnes in January from a year earlier, according to Japan Aluminium Association and Ministry of Economy, Trade & Industry. The shipment kept steady mainly for die castings.The shipment of aluminium rolled products represented year-to-year increase for 9 months in a row. The shipment maintained high for heat exchangers and kept more than 10% increase for passenger cars. Aluminium shipment for die castings increased by 1.8% to 74,311 tonnes in January from a year ago and accounted for more than 50% of total aluminium shipment.Aluminium shipment for forgings represented more than 10% growth in January from a year earlier, while the shipment for castings increased slightly.
