Hanwa Co. to Launch Sheet Press Plant in Poland

Hanwa Co. will start the operation of joint venture in Poland with major press processor in late the year to make press parts for liquid crystal module for Sharp’s plant in Poland. Hanwa established Sohbi Craft Poland in July 2006 to make parts for monthly 150,000 units of modules. Hanwa Co. traditionally supplies sheet steel through press processors at home and abroad for parts of Sharp’s crystal liquid television. The partner of major processor has plants in Osaka, Mie, China, Thailand and Philippine. Sharp started the liquid crystal television plant in Poland in January 2007. The plant already makes monthly 100,000 units of module expanding the operation to 300,000 units by the end of the year. The plant will make liquid crystal television in summer 2008. Hanwa Co. has 40% interest in the joint venture in Poland. The plant construction works will complete by October. The new plant will serve Sharp’s transplant through the pressed sheet material supply.
