Furukawa-Sky Aluminum Expects 450,000t Sales in F2007

Furukawa-Sky Aluminum Corporation plans to increase aluminium rolled product sales by 1.1% to 449,000 tonnes in fiscal 2007 started April compared with fiscal 2006. The sales volume will continue to increase as well as fiscal 2006 when aluminium plate demand keeps steady and aluminium can material demand is expected to recover in fiscal 2007.Furukawa-Sky Aluminum expects the sales volume will increase by 1% to 401,000 tonnes for aluminium flat products and by 1.7% to 46,000 tonnes for aluminium extrusions in fiscal 2007 compared with fiscal 2006 while keep flat at 2,000 tonnes for aluminium castings and forgings. Especially the sales of aluminium plate for liquefied natural gas carriers will increase by 10.6% to 19,000 tonnes.Furukawa-Sky Aluminum’s actual sales were total 444,000 tonnes in fiscal 2006, up by 3.8% from fiscal 2005. Aluminium flat products increased by 4.4% to 397,000 tonnes, aluminium extrusions decreased by 1.5% to 45,000 tonnes and aluminium castings and forgings increased by 7.9% to 2,000 tonnes. Aluminium can material sales slowed down but the decrease was covered by foil and other domestic demand.
