Japan Official Copper Price Down and Lead Price Up

Nippon Mining & Metals announced on Wednesday the firm revised down the official copper ingot price by 10,000 yen to 940,000 yen per tonne for domestic shipment in May. The monthly average became to 979,400 yen. The official price declined by 10.48% or 110,000 yen from record 1.05 million yen marked on May 7. The latest price hit the lowest level since 920,000 yen on April 4, 2007.Mitsubishi Materials announced on Wednesday the firm raised the official lead ingot price by 10,000 yen to 300,000 yen per tonne for domestic shipment in May. The official price hit the year high thanks to weaker yen against US dollar and approaches record 310,000 yen marked on March 12, 1980. The monthly average became to 293,000 yen.
