Japan Steel Export Rises by 9.9% in April

Japanese steel export increased by 9.9% to 2.816 million tonnes in April from a year earlier, announced by Ministry of Finance. The export value increased by 25.7% to 310.524 billion yen. The import increased by 30.6% to 823,315 tonnes and by 50.4% to 93.588 billion yen. The steel export volume increased by 16.8% to Asia in April from a year earlier while the export decreased by 9.8% to USA and by 51.8% to Middle East. The export increased by 10.4% to China. The export value increased by 37.2% to Asia while the export value decreased by 51.2% to Middle East. The export value to China increased by 25.8%. The steel import volume increased by 66.4% from Asia in April from a year earlier while the import decreased by 6.3% from European Union and by 66.4% from Russia. The import from China increased by 38.8%. The import value increased by 65.2% from Asia while the value decreased by 12.1% from USA and by 7.1% from Russia. The import value from China increased by 55.3%.
