Osaka Steel to Expend 4.5-5 billion yen in F2007

Osaka Steel plans to expend 4.5-5 billion yen for the parent company in fiscal 2007 to March 2008. The firm adds coherent burner to A electric furnace Sakai plant, which is one of the 2 furnaces at the plant, for 160 million yen while the firm renews monitor control system for electric furnace and continuous caster and converts dust collection cooling system for 350 million yen. The firm starts the works in early September. The firm also adds shipping line for elevator guide rail for 250 million yen after the transport some of the rolling process from Okajima plant in 2006. The firm improves the shearing line for billet caster at Kumamoto plant for 150 million yen. The firm plans to expend 10 billion yen for 3 years from fiscal 2006 to improve the productivity and environmental and safety conditions. The firm expended 2.26 billion yen in fiscal 2006. The firm converted the reheat furnace at Okajima plant to use utility gas instead of traditional heating oil for 50 million yen in fiscal 2006. The firm added coherent burner to B electric furnace at Sakai plant for 160 million yen.
