Aluminium scrap market price is flat at 280-285 yen per kilogram for new cutting scrap, at 273-278 yen per kg for 63S grade sash scrap and at 185-190 yen per kg for high grade can scrap with press around Tokyo. Aluminium can scrap price is rather steady when Japanese can scrap export is recently increasing.Primary aluminium spot price at London Metal Exchange currently stays at around US$ 2,750-2,850 per tonne after the strong uptrend. Primary aluminium ingot price is steady at around 375 yen per kg in Japanese market thanks to weaker yen against US dollar.Price negotiation will start next week between Japanese secondary aluminium alloy makers and aluminium scrap dealers for shipment in the first half of June. Scrap dealers expect the makers’ purchasing price would be unchanged while aluminium alloy makers aim to decrease their purchasing price when they are suffered from higher material costs and lower product selling prices.Scrap trading became rather active compared with early May. Some dealers are carefully controlling the shipment volume with concerns that primary aluminium price might plunge down impacted by the decline of copper metal price.
