Rolled Aluminium Output Rises by 5.7% around Osaka in March

Rolled aluminium output increased by 5.7% to 29,188 tonnes around Osaka in March from a year earlier, which represented 3-year high and increases for 5 months in a row, according to Japan Aluminium Association. Higher output for plate and tube lifted the total figure. The output increased by 5.5% to 24,489 tonnes for flat and strip products in March from a year earlier, which increased for 11 months in a row. The output increased by 57.6% to 3,281 tonnes for plate with more than 6 millimeters thick and by 10.5% to 4,142 tonnes for strip with more than 0.5 mm thick under firm demand for shipbuilding and machinery. The extrusion output increased by 6.6% to 4,660 tonnes in march from a year earlier, which increased for 2 months in a row. The aluminium foil output increased by 9.6% to 5,155 tonnes, which increased for 3 months in a row.
