Japan Official Lead Price Downs after 3 Weeks

Mitsubishi Materials announced on Thursday the firm decreased the official lead ingot price by 6,000 yen to 323,000 yen per tonne for domestic shipment in June. The price was revised down for the first time in late 3 weeks to reflect the decline of overseas lead market. However, the domestic official price still stays at the highest level in 27 years. The monthly average became to 324,100 yen.Lead spot price at London Metal Exchange downed by US$ 10 to US$ 2,315.5 per tonne at settlement on Wednesday from previous day. LME lead settlement hit record US$ 2,351 on June 1 when Chinese government tightened its lead export and production trouble occurred at Australian lead producer. However, the lead price was impacted by weak tone all over the nonferrous metals markets.
