Japan Primary Aluminium Buyers Get Premium Drop

Japanese primary aluminium buyers concluded the premium price negotiation for July-September to decrease by US$ 3 to US$ 68-70 per tonne, which represents drops for 3 quarters in a row. Japanese buyers tried to reduce the premium to around US$ 65 under domestic oversupply. The premium is likely not to increase for October-December. Japanese primary aluminium inventory at port keeps 200,000-250,000 tonnes level. The stock keeps low level when the buyers try to reduce the own stock. However, the supply is more than demand under slower demand for construction materials.
