Market price of carbon steel for machine structures turned strong at 112,000 yen per tonne for carbon steel (SC) and at 139,000 yen for chrome-molybdenum steel (SCM) around Tokyo.The demand keeps good for large contract users such as construction machineries, manufacturing machineries or automobiles. The market price for distributors bottomed out. The dealers aim 12,000 yen per tonne for SC.Dealers are trying to raise their reselling prices when the makers show strong selling stances recently. The makers almost finished the price hike announcement to distributors and started another price negotiation with appliance makers.Dealer source said makers’ rolling schedule is busy for thin diameter SC. Dealers’ inventory seems short for some sizes. The demand is also steady for large diameter products. Dealers don’t offer cheap reselling prices for the orders. The market price bottomed out.
