Japan Official Lead Ingot Price Downs to 481,000 Yen/t

Mitsui Mining & Smelting announced on Monday the firm revised down the official lead ingot price by 14,000 yen to 481,000 yen per tonne for domestic shipment in June. The price was deceased to reflect the decline of overseas lead market. The monthly average became to 494,200 yen.Lead spot price at London Metal Exchange downed by US$ 49.5 to US$ 3,525 per tonne at settlement on Friday from previous day. LME lead settlement decreased by US$ 175 compared with June 12 along which Mitsui Mining & Smelting previously revised the domestic official ingot price.LME lead settlement was below US$ 3,600 for 2 straight days and became the cheapest level since April 17, 2007. The foreign exchange rate of yen became cheaper by more than 2 yen against US dollar. Consequently the latest lead ingot price in Japan is higher by 10,000 yen per tonne compared with 471,000 yen on April 17.
