Japan and Indonesia Decide the Content of Steel Partnership

Japanese and Indonesian governments fixed the content of agreement for steel industry in Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA). Tariff of Japanese steel export to Indonesia is eliminated after entry into force of EPA for about 80% of Japanese steel export at about 800,000 tonnes in 2004. They decided tax exemption system is applied Indonesian importers which are all steel service centers such as coil center, searing processor, drawing maker. Japanese government will send Japanese expert for effective utilization of low quality material or formulation of Indonesian steel industry strategy. Both governments will sign the agreement in summer after screening of the text.
