Japan Carbon Steel Export Rises by 10.5% in February

Japanese carbon steel export increased by 10.5% to 1.975 million tonnes in February from a year earlier, which increased for 10 months in a row, announced by Japan Iron and Steel Federation on Tuesday. The main item of wide hot strip coil export increased by 14%. The carbon steel export increased by 15.2% to 3.907 million tonnes in January-February from same period of 2006.The total steel export to South Korea increased by 7.0% to 686,000 tonnes in February from a year earlier, which increased for 10 months in a row. The export to China increased by 1.2% to 471,000 tonnes, which increased for 9 months in a row. The export increased by 32.3% to 328,000 tonnes to Thailand and by 16.6% to 273,000 tonnes to Taiwan both of which increased for 4 months in a row. The export to USA increased by 6.9% to 173,000 tonnes, which increased for 2 months in a row.
