Ferrous scrap market price is flat at 29,500 yen per tonne for H2, 31,800 yen for H1 and 33,500 yen for HS at dealers’ purchase price including freight around Tokyo. The price is likely to keep the level under tight supply for the seasonal output reduction period. Local electric furnace steel makers pay 35,500-36,500 yen per tonne for H2 and some pay as high as 37,500 yen. The scrap materials flow keeps slow. A dealer source said scrap dealers have trouble to secure materials in the market. The source expects the scrap generation could keep low even if electric furnaces would increase the purchase price. Ferrous scrap market price is firm at around 28,000 yen per tonne for H2 grade around Osaka.
