Japanese steel export increased by 5.2% to 17.855 million tonnes in January-June from same period of 2006, announced by Ministry of Finance on Wednesday. The export value increased by 22.1% to 1.987 trillion yen. The steel import increased by 28.8% to 4.514 million tonnes in volume and by 49.3% to 597.953 billion yen in value.
