Ferrous scrap market price is flat at 29,500 yen per tonne for H2, at 31,800 yen for H1 and at 33,500 yen for HS at dealers’ purchase price including freight around Tokyo. The price is likely to keep the level under higher scrap shipping price from Tokyo bay. Japanese scrap export price increased to FOB 37,000 yen per tonne for H2 to eastern Asian market. The price represents FAS 36,000 yen while the scrap shipping price is already FAS 36,000-36,500 yen from Tokyo bay to other Japanese areas. The price increases when local electric furnace steel makers pay the level to secure materials despite of the maintenance outage season. Ferrous scrap market price is firm at around 28,500 yen per tonne for H2 grade around Osaka.
