Showa Aluminum Powder Develops New Resin-coated Powder Paste

Showa Aluminum Powder K.K., Nara based aluminium paste maker, developed new resin-coated aluminium paste “EZ series” with high chemical resistance and good metal-like looking. The firm now provides the handouts for plastic paint and plans to start the commercial production in September 2007. The firm estimates the sales at 50 tonnes per annum for the first year.Showa Aluminum Powder is a top maker of resin-coated aluminium powder paste in Japan owned 51% by Itochu Corporation with 34% share by Itochu Chemical Frontier Corporation and 15% share by Showa Denko.“EZ series” realized high chemical resistance and good metal-like looking at the same time by development of new acrylic resin for aluminium powder coating and precise control of coating shapes. The firm targets paint markets for cellular phones, home appliances and in-vehicle parts.
