Sambo Copper Alloy Agrees for Another Eco Brass License

Sambo Copper Alloy, Osaka based copper alloy product maker, announced the firm signed license agreement with Niigata based Japanese top copper alloy casting maker, Joetsu Bronz1 Corporation to allow to make and sell ingot and continuously casting products of lead-free copper alloy “Eco Brass.” Joetsu Bronz1 is 6th Japanese maker for Sambo to allow the license. Eco Brass is silicon containing brass alloy without lead originally developed by Sambo Copper Alloy. Joetsu Bronz1 aims to meet various demand for copper alloy castings by commercialization of Eco Brass with high strength and corrosion resistance, while the firm has line-upped its original lead-free copper alloy based on bismuth. In copper alloy casting market the lead-free trend has advanced in recent years and the lead-free product ratio reaches over 20% currently. Sambo Copper Alloy has agreements for licensing of Eco Brass with Dowa Mining, Nippon Shindo, Ohki Brass & Copper, Kaimei Shindo and Marue Shindo domestically and with Wieland-Werke of Germany and Chase Brass & Copper of USA. Chase Brass & Copper sublicensed Ingot Metal Company and Concast Metal Products to widen production and sales network of Eco Brass in North America.
