Japan Rebar Export Rises by 8.6% in June

Japanese concrete reinforcing steel bar export was 38,396 tonnes in June, which was 8.6% higher from May and 1.1% lower from a year earlier, according to Ministry of Finance.

The export to USA, which was the largest destination, was 21,787 tonnes in June, which was 39.6% higher than May and 2.6% lower than a year earlier. The export to South Korea was 14,062 tonnes, which was 6.5% higher than May and 4.6% lower than a year earlier. The export to China was 1,336 tonnes, which was 3.2 times of May and 8.7 times of a year earlier.

Japanese billet export was 54,817 tonnes in June, which was 11.4% lower than May and 35% lower than a year earlier. The export was 37,384 tonnes for South Korea, which was 28.1% lower than May and 6.6% higher than a year earlier, and 6,202 tonnes for Taiwan, which was 1.5% higher than May and 75.7% lower than a year earlier. The export was 6,056 tonnes for Vietnam and 4,384 tonnes for China.
