Japan Official Lead Price Drops by 21,000 yen/t

Mitsubishi Materials announced on Tuesday the firm decreases the official lead ingot price by 21,000 yen to 383,000 yen per tonne for August shipment to reflect higher yen rate and lower offshore lead market. The averaged monthly price decreases to 398,800 yen, which again decreased to 500 yen less than official zinc ingot price. Foreign exchange rate of yen was 118.44 yen per US dollar at telegraphic transfer selling rate on August 15, when the firm revised the lead price previously. However, the rate was 115.74 yen on Tuesday. London Metal Exchange’s lead ingot price was US$ 3,015 per tonne at settlement on Monday. The price was US$ 106 lower than US$ 3,121 on August 14.
