Rolled Aluminium Output Continues Down in Osaka

Rolled aluminium output decreased by 3.2% to 27,792 tonnes around Osaka in June from a year earlier, which represented year-to-year down for 3 months in a row, according to Japan Aluminium Association. The production of shapes and wires especially decreased.The output increased by 0.7% to 23,874 tonnes for flat and strip products in June from a year earlier, which exceeded the result in May when the output hit the highest in late 2 years. The output of thin strip with less than 0.5 millimeter thick increased by 5.2% to 15,786 tonnes, though the output decreased for other flat products.Aluminium extrusion output decreased by 22% to 3,918 tonnes in June from a year earlier, which represented year-to-year down for 3 months in a row. Aluminium shape decreased by 15.2% to 2,950 tonnes. Aluminium bar decreased by 22% and wire by 61%, though extrusion and pipe increased.Aluminium foil output increased by 1.9% to 4,919 tonnes, which showed year-to-year up for 6 consecutive months. The production was firm for capacitors while declined for daily goods.
