Japan Stainless Steel Sheet Import Jumps by 11.5% in July

Japanese stainless steel sheet import increased by 11.5% to 21,346 tonnes in July from June including hot- and cold-rolled sheet, according to Ministry of Finance. Cold-rolled products import decreased by 16.0% while hot-rolled products import increased by 41.5%. Especially, hot-rolled products import from Spain rapidly increased by 4.5 times to 5,080 tonnes. Cold-rolled products import decreased for 3 consecutive months compared with last month. Cold-rolled products import from China decreased by 38.0% to 378 tonnes, which decreased by about 70% compared with May when was peak.The import from South Korea was the largest at total 12,922 tonnes, 6,398 tonnes of which was cold-rolled products. The second was Spain at total 5,080 tonnes, and the third was Finland at total 1,176 tonnes, 761 tonnes of which was cold products.
