Japan Rolled Aluminium Capacity Utilization Keeps Downtrend

Japanese rolled aluminium makers’ capacity utilization was 94.5% in July, down by 1.3 points from a year earlier, according to Japan Aluminium Association. The makers’ output represented year-to-year increase for aluminium sheet thanks to the demand recovery for can materials. However, makers’ capacity expansion also advanced and the capacity utilization downed as total. The utilization kept below 90% for aluminium extrusions when the demand maintains stagnant for building constructions.
