JFE Steel and Thyssen Krupp Develop New High-Tension Sheet

JFE Steel (JFES) and Thyssen Krupp Steel (TKS) co-develops 780 mega paschal class hot-rolled high-tension steel sheet which has a higher elongation characteristic. They already succeeded in test production at a laboratory by JFES’s productive technology for nanometer-level high-tension products and TKS’s CP high-tension productive technology.JFES’s nano high-tension technology strengthens steel sheet by putting nanometer size deposit and realizes both higher elongation and hole expansion. JFES’s high-tension sheet has been adopted to suspension or front side member of automobiles. JFES aims to accelerate the sales by co-development of next-generation sheet with TKS.JFES and TKS formed an alliance for their steel sheet businesses in April 2002 and have advanced technology cooperation to establish a global supply system of automotive steel sheet.
