Nihon Superior Licenses Asahi Chemical Research Laboratory for SN100C

Osaka based solder maker, Nihon Superior announced on Wednesday the firm concluded a license contract for its lead free solder “SN100C” with Asahi Chemical Research Laboratory this month. Asahi Chemical Research Laboratory is Japanese maker of bonding materials for electronic substrates and became the first licensee of SN100C in Japan.SN100C is based on tin-copper-nickel alloy with slight volume of germanium, which is cheaper than tin-silver-copper solder, the main stream of lead-free solder, with fine wettability, surface gross and less shrinkage cavity. Nihon Superior is increasing its market share of SN100C in overseas markets such as China and Europe.Nihon Superior and Asahi Chemical Research Laboratory signed for the license contract on 4 September along which Asahi Chemical Research Laboratory is fully allowed to produce, use and sell SN100C worldwide. The firm is the first licensee of SN100C in Japan while the eighth licensee in the world.
