Japan, China Talk for Energy and Environment in Beijing

Second China-Japan Forum on Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection was held in Beijing on Thursday. Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, Japan-China Association on Economy and Trade, Ministry of Commerce of China and National Development and Reform Commission People’s Republic of China hold the meeting after the first one in Tokyo last year. They talk for cooperation in energy saving and environmental protection. Vice premier Zeng Peiyan of State Council of China, Minister Akira Amari of METI and other high level persons held presentation for around 1,000 of attendees. Minister Amari said Japanese experience should contribute to Chinese energy issues. Other speakers also emphasized cooperation between China and Japan. They agreed to hold third forum in Japan. They hold sectional meeting for 8 areas including steel and automobile to discuss individual issues. Vice president Hideaki Sekizawa of Nippon Steel reported Japanese steel industry’s effort while Chinese delegations explained the effort to restructuring and energy saving.
