Japan Secondary Aluminium Output Hits Record in August

Japanese secondary aluminum output increased by 4.2% to 83,037 tonnes in August from a year earlier, which was record output as August, announced by Japan Aluminium Association on Tuesday. The shipment also increased by 4.3% to 85,712 tonnes under firm demand for automobile. The volume increased for 25 months in a row for the output and for 27 months in a row for the shipment. The shipment increased by 9.4% for die-casting in August from a year earlier. The makers kept full capacity operations to meet higher demand for automobile. The material alloyed aluminium makers also kept high level operations to serve the high activity by the users. However, the alloyed aluminium products price decreases since August due to drop for aluminium scrap market. The alloyed aluminium makers seek price hike when they expect the aluminium scrap market could increase in October.
