China Steel Increases Steel Plate Price to Japan

China Steel (CSC), Taiwanese biggest steel maker, decided steel export plan to Japan for the shipment in November 2007-January 2008 and announced to business partner. CSC increases the selling price by 2,000 yen per tonne for steel plate and didn’t change the selling price for hot rolled, cold rolled and pickled steel coil. CSC will cut the selling volume by about 10% for pickled and cold rolled steel coil for the shipment in November 2007-January 2008 compared with July-September 2007. Because the supply and demand is tight in Asia and Japan, and Japanese makers increased the steel plate price to domestic market, CSC raised the steel plate price to Japan. It is considered that CSC didn’t change the selling price for steel sheets due to slower shipment in Japanese market.
