Secondary Aluminium Alloy Price Downs by 5 yen/kg for Die-casting

Secondary aluminium alloy makers around Osaka apparently settled the price negotiation with the users including die-casting makers to decrease the selling price for die-casting materials by averaged 5 yen per kilogram for September shipment, for which they usually negotiate the price after the shipment. The reduction is 3-7 yen depending on the materials and users. Some makers lost total 10 yen hike in August and September. The indicator price decreased to 295-302 yen for AD12.1 grade products including freight at transaction for 120 days sight of bill. The makers negotiated under negative factors including plunge of primary aluminium ingot price at London Metal Exchange and major drop for purchase price of aluminium scrap. Japanese primary aluminium ingot price decreased to 280 per kg in September under 15-month low of yen rate. The alloy makers reduced the quarterly shipping price for October-December. However, the alloy makers resisted major price down bid for September shipment price citing the scrap price is still high and the quarterly price is different from the monthly price. The alloy makers finally accepted the price down by 3-7 yen per kg for die-casting materials and by 7-10 yen for casting materials. The reduction is averaged 5 yen for die-casting and 7 yen for casting.
