Japanese 5 integrated steel makers’ share prices increased at the ended of September 2007 from a year ago. Especially, Nippon Steel and JFE Holdings’ share price largely increased. Nikkei Stock Average increased 0.05% at the end of September from a year ago. 5 steel makers’ share price is seemed to be estimated their positive earnings in fiscal 2006 at the end of March 207, and their measure of return to stockholders which is dividend increased and share buy-back scheme.Nippon Steel’s share price reached 840 yen per share, up by 72% at the end of March 2007 from a year ago. JFE Holdings’ share price increased to 8220 yen, up by 77%. Sumitomo Metal Industries’ share price increased to 676 yen, up by 48%. Kobe Steel’s share price increased to 435 yen, up by 16%. Nisshin Steel’s share price increased by 50% to 528 yen.Their share prices rose because their measure for stockholders in addition to the buying on speculation. Their total market value of listed shares is increasing. Nippon Steel’ total market value achieved about 6,500 billion yen. JFE Holdings’ total market value increased to about 5,400 billion yen.
