Nippon Mining & Metals Starts New Subsidiary in Malaysia

Nippon Mining & Metals announced on Wednesday its new subsidiary in Malaysia, Materials Service Complex Malaysia (MSCM), started operation this month which was established in April 2007 jointly with Nikko Shoji, a subsidiary of Nippon Mining & Metals. The subsidiary will increase the sales of copper rolled products, chemical products and other sub materials in East Asia region while the site operates a coil center for slitting process for copper and copper alloy products. MSCM also has a function to collect, select and sell metal scrap to Nippon Mining & Metals. Investment for the subsidiary was 950 million yen. The sales target is 30 million ringgit (about 10 billion yen) per annum in 2010.MSCM has an own coil center to slit copper alloys and own yards to stock recycling materials. The subsidiary will sell copper rolled products in East Asia and collect new cutting scraps generated at the customers. MSCM will sell metal scrap to Kurami plant of Nippon Mining & Metals in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. Kurami plant is a production base of copper rolled products.
