Japan Electronic Materials Output Rises by 12% in August

Japanese electronic materials output increased by 12% to 43.74 billion yen in August from a year earlier, according to Japan Electronics and Technology Industries Association. The metal materials output increased by 55% to 5.97 billion yen in August from a year earlier when the nonferrous metal prices stayed at the high level. The output rose by 52% for electric tube and leadframe materials. The demand was stable.The output of permanent magnet increased by 4% to 8.78 billion yen in August from a year earlier. Rare earth magnet output increased by 6% to 7.05 billion yen. The demand kept increasing for automobiles and hard discs while the output value growth became slower. Ferrite magnet output decreased by 3%.
