Nakayama Steel Works tries to pump up the hot rolling operation to full capacity operation in March 2008 after the firm expanded the capacity by around 30,000 tonnes to monthly 125,000 tonnes in September. The expansion, which includes new reheat furnace and expansion of slab caster, enable to increase the OEM for Nippon Steel to around 25,000 tonnes per month. The firm tries to improve the hot rolling operation in quality along with the volume. The firm improves the surface finishing, preciseness of gauge and width controlling for higher grade products. The firm produces monthly 100,000 tonnes of hot rolling products in July and August. The production recovered 100,000 tonnes in October after temporally drop due to expansion working in September.
