LS Cable Contracts 3-year Automotive Cable Supply to Delphi

South Korean largest electric cable maker, LS Cable announced the firm concluded a 3-year contract with Delphi, US largest automotive module maker, on 29 October to supply automotive cables of total US$ 130 million worth. LS Cable produces automotive cables at its subsidiary in Wuxi, Jiangsu Region of China and supplies them to Delphi’s 8 factories in Asia-Pacific region.Delphi operates 8 factories for automotive wiring harness in Asia-Pacific countries including China, Malaysia, Indonesia and India. Especially in China, automobile production is rapidly increasing year by year and global auto module makers are focusing their operations into the country.LS Cable aims to expand its automotive cable business to follow the auto industry growth in China. The firm seeks long-term cooperative relationships with not only Delphi but also Leoni of German or Yazaki Corporation of Japan which are worldwide auto module makers.Automotive cable is a main material for automotive wiring harness. Some wiring harness makers are producing material cables by themselves while some makers are purchasing cables from outer cable makers.
