Mitsubishi Aluminum to Hike Capacitor Foil in March 2008

Mitsubishi Aluminum announced on Wednesday the firm raises the rolling charge for aluminium foil applied into electrolytic capacitor by more than 30 yen per kilogram effective for shipment in March 2008. The firm announced the previous hike by 30 yen per kg this spring but has not achieved the price up fully so far. The firm aims to achieve the previous hike and to put current cost up on the selling price.Aluminium foil demand maintains favorable for electrolytic capacitors which are equipped in digital home appliances and automotive electronic systems. Mitsubishi Aluminum cannot meet the strong demand fully though the firm reorganized factory shifts to increase the output. The demand is also strong for higher quality foils.Additionally productive costs are increasing for primary aluminium, heavy oil, rolling oil, distribution and packaging materials. The firm decided the additional price hike to sustain the stable supply.
