Mitsubishi-Hitachi to Expand Steel Mill Order Receipt

Mitsubishi-Hitachi Metals Machinery expects record 90 billion yen of order receipt for fiscal 2007 compared with record 63.1 billion yen in fiscal 2006 and 74 billion yen of original estimated for fiscal 2007 as of May 2007. The firm got major orders for hot strip mill and plate mill from Nippon Steel and other major makers at home and abroad. The firm expects the order receipt will keep more than 90 billion yen per year for nest 2 years. The world top supplier of hot and cold rolling facilities expands the order receipt from 6.06 billion yen in fiscal 2005 and 53.4 billion yen in fiscal 2004. The firm revised the estimation for fiscal 2007 after the firm got 65 billion yen of order in first half of fiscal 2007. The firm got order for conversion of plate mill and hot strip mill and new cold rolling mill from Japanese steel makers in the first half. The firm also got pickling and cold rolling mill from Severstal North America and conversion of hot and cold rolling mill from POSCO. The firm is getting order for hot strip mill from JSW Steel and cold rolling mill from Chinese steel makers in the second half. The firm also expects another major facilities order from offshore major steel makers.
