Japan Rolled Copper Output Drops by 5.2% in October

Japanese rolled copper output decreased by 5.2% to 87,300 tonnes in October from a year earlier, which represented decrease for 9 months in a row, announced by Japan Copper and Brass Association on Tuesday. The output dropped sharply for copper tune and brass bar while the copper strip output hit monthly record. Slower building demand impacted on the industry. The copper tube output decreased by 9.6% to 13,007 tonnes in October from a year earlier under slower demand for air conditioner. Slower building activity reduced the demand under the transition process for new building standard law. The brass bar output decreased by 10.8% to 20,138 tonnes in October from a year earlier, which decreased for 10 months in a raw. The demand is slow for gas equipment, valve and water tapping fittings. The copper strip output increased by 1.1% to record 25,180 tonnes in October from a year earlier. The demand recovers for lead frame for integrated circuit along with firm demand for terminal pin for automobile.
