Kogi Corp. to Expand Castings Capacity in China

Himeji based major casting maker, Kogi Corporation expands the output of casting mold for automobile press machine by around 40% to monthly 1,000 tonnes by late 2008 through expansion at the Chinese subsidiary, Tianjin Rainbow Hills Cast Iron. The firm expands plant building of the subsidiary to 1.8 times from now and adds new melting and other facilities for 200-300 million yen. The firm already expanded the capacity from monthly 400 tonnes to 700 tonnes in October 2006 for around 200 million yen. The firm tries to meet growing demand from local transplants of Japanese automakers, mainly Toyota Motor through the expansion. The firm expands the sales for other automakers.
