Ferrous Scrap Purchase Price Increases around Osaka

Ferrous scrap purchase price by local electric furnace makers rose in 2.5 months for the first time around Osaka. Heavy scrap generation keeps slow due to decreased dismantlement of building. 4 makers increased the purchase price until Tuesday around Himeji area and some makers increased the price around Osaka. Their judge was influenced by increased overseas market price or decreased delivery from Tokyo.JFE Bars & Shapes Corporation and Yamato Steel around Himeji area increased the price by 1,000 yen per tonne from December 8 and increased since the ended of September. Godo Steel and Sanyo Special Steel increased the price the price by 1,000 yen from Tuesday. Yamato Steel’s purchase price increased to 39,000 yen per tonne for H2 grade.Kishiwada Steel increased the price by 500 yen per tonne from Wednesday except turning scrap. Dealer source said other makers increased the price, too when ferrous scrap inflow volume would decrease to Osaka from other area if makers’ purchase price is cheap and electric furnace makers in other area raised the purchase price around Tokyo.
