Japan Stainless Steel Scrap Export Jumps to China

Japanese stainless steel scrap export increased to 17,860 tonnes by 90% in August from last month, which decreased by 39% compared with same month of 2006, according to Ministry of Finance. The export to China broke 10,000 tonnes in 2 months for the first time. Stainless scrap supply and demand had been loose.The export to China decreased by 67% to 3,860 tonnes in July. In August, the export to China increased to 12,370 tonnes by 220% in August from July. In now, the export contracts are increasing to China. Japan market price is increasing in some area. The export to South Korea increased to 4,550 tonnes by 5% in August from July, which decreased by 75% in August from same month of last year.
